A ransomware called WannaCry infected computers in several countries. Computers that became infected had not been patched. Microsoft released a security bulletin on March 14th, 2017, titled Microsoft Security Bulletin MS17-010 – Critical: Security: Update for Microsoft Windows SMB Server (4013389). The advisory details vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Server Message Block 1.0 (SMBv1) server, and has been the vector for exploiting the ransomware cyber-attack named WannaCry or Wanna Decryptor. (1). On May 12, 2017, Microsoft published a customer guidance titled: Customer Guidance for WannaCrypt attacks. The guidance provided the steps every individual and business should take to stay protected. (2).

Additional Information.
No Brocade Products are vulnerable to WannaCry Ransomware. Brocade recommends Customers that run Brocade products on affected Microsoft operating systems to apply the Microsoft patch as recommended in Customer Guidance for WannaCrypt attacks.
